Technologically advancing MediGuide’s MSO ecosystem

Technology continues to revolutionize the healthcare industry’s traditional healthcare model. While we rely on proven systems and processes, we wholeheartedly embrace technology, continuously look for ways to enhance our offering, simultaneously enhancing our performance and productivity.

To that end we are honored and excited to have on board Dr. Jonathan Wiesen, founder of MediOrbis, who joined us in December 2019 as Chief Medical Officer of MediGuide International. Undoubtedly, his dual experience and expertise in clinical medicine and telehealth innovation will help guide and influence the way in which MediGuide builds on its MSO innovation capabilities.

MediGuide’s biggest technological MSO delivery challenge

In Dr. Wiesen’s words, “There are innumerable hurdles that must be overcome in order to present a patient with a comprehensive, high-level medical second opinion. The clinical team has done an outstanding job of streamlining the process for each and every component, from obtaining records, translating them, summarizing them, and presenting them to the physicians for evaluation. Layering on top of this complex procedure is a necessity to do it all in a technologically intuitive way. This presents a challenge but one for which the MediGuide and MediOrbis team are perfectly situated to rise up and solve. The MediOrbis workflows and technologies fit perfectly with MediGuide’s procedures to streamline and integrate the entire process”.

Widening the accessibility and scope of our services

Covering urgent and specialty care and chronic disease monitoring and management, MediOrbis offers patients and healthcare providers options that were previously unavailable. No longer limited by geography, a smartphone and access to the internet allows patients to receive care in their homes / remote areas and potentially saves both patients and healthcare providers time and money.

According to Dr Wiesen, “The main impetus for the MediOrbis telemedicine provision is providing a service that is unrealized”. He says, “There is a huge desire and need for high-level and sophisticated specialty opinions that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Moreover, technology must be harnessed to help manage the most costly and cumbersome of medical conditions. As such we brought forth our specialty and chronic disease management programs to address those needs in the market”.

The next phase in the MediGuide-MediOrbis offering

Dr. Wiesen says, “We have also developed a mobile application. As part of the MediGuide-MediOrbis collaboration, our goal is to help provide a technology platform that makes the process as simple as possible for patients. We will continue to develop and create, to innovate in the field of clinical medicine, using technology to make medical care more time and cost effective, improving outcomes and, most importantly, increasing patient’s engagement and satisfaction”.
